Frequently asked questions

How do I back up or restore my diary?

Open Settings › Data & Privacy. Choose Export Backup… to save an unencrypted .stickandgrind file through Apple’s file exporter. Keep the file somewhere private because it includes the player name and the full diary.

Choose Restore from Backup… to inspect a backup and replace the diary currently on the device. Restore is replace-only; it does not merge two diaries. Review the confirmation carefully before continuing.

What does a share card include?

A share card contains a rendered accomplishment image and short text. Player identity is off by default. To include the player’s name, team, and number, turn on Include player identity under Settings › Data & Privacy. Notes and backup data are never added to a share card.

Why did I not receive a rest-timer notification?

Stick & Grind uses local notifications for rest-timer alerts. Check the app’s notification permission in the iPhone Settings app. The in-app timer continues to work if notifications are denied.

How do I delete my data?

To delete individual diary records, use the delete controls in the app. To delete all locally stored Stick & Grind data, delete the app from the iPhone. Restoring a backup also replaces all current diary data with the contents of that backup.

Does Stick & Grind require an account or internet connection?

No account is required, and the diary works offline. Internet access is used only when you choose to open a YouTube drill demonstration in an in-app Safari view. Apple services may also be used when you choose to export or share.
